You can make a difference in the lives of adults with physical disabilities who have chosen to maintain their independence by living in their own homes with pride and dignity. Assistance from a professional and friendly Worker is a key component to providing this quality service. It isn't an easy job, so only exceptional, caring people need apply. 

Our Outreach staff work within the community, however we are not a piecework program. Staff have set hours, of 3 up to 8 hour durations, and you are paid by the hour, not but the time spent with the client.

We are currently looking for:

Contract - a worker to fill a full-time contract rotation, days, until October 10, 2015, with the possibility of the contract being extended. The successful applicant will have the option to continue working at GIL after the contract has ended, as a casual staff.

Contract- a worker to fill a part-time contract rotation,15-20 hours per week evenings and days, with the option to continue to work at GIL after the contract has ended.



Activities of daily living that assist adults with physical disabilities, who self-direct their care, to live independently, including:
• Transferring/positioning/turning
• Dressing/undressing
• Washing/bathing
• Toileting including bowel, bladder and catheter care
• Light housekeeping/laundry assistance
• Meal preparation/assistance with eating
• Follow through on programs developed by an occupational therapist, physiotherapist and/or speech therapist

• PSW certification or experience in the field preferred
• Use of a vehicle, valid driver's license, proof of valid insurance
• Ability to work shifts including days and/or evenings
• Commitment to work alternate weekends
• Successful criminal reference check
• Employment medical

Environment Conditions:
Exposure to:
• Household cleaners, pets, smoke, temperature fluctuations, client action
• Driving in inclement weather

Probationary - $17.71

Wage grid - $18.61-$19.53
